About the Artist
Evan Richard is a graduate student pursuing his MA in fine arts at California State University San Bernardino after having graduated from Riverside City College and California State University Fullerton for undergraduate studies.
Current work includes various personal oil paintings and designing the trading card game Primordia: Garden of Ruin.
Evan’s work aims to explore the absurdity of everyday life in a social realism style. He draws inspiration from the disparity between life in Southern California and an increasingly concerning news-cycle. Additional common themes in his work are punk rock, pop culture, and scenes of day-to-day life in southern California.
Evan’s medium of choice is oil paint, with an increased interest in exploring digital work. It is his goal to expand the scope of his work and to create illustrations of fantastical scenes. While Evan believes it is the responsibility of contemporary artists to share our opinions on the world and to draw the attention of the greater masses to concerning issues, he hopes to find beauty and wonder in creating art as a means to escape those very issues.
